A Still Life Drawing Workshop

On 22nd February, Frances Costelloe led a tutored still life drawing workshop at Bonne Route, with a break for a nourishing vegetarian meal. Drawing on her background in fine art and illustration alongside, Costelloe selected flowers and fruit for the guests to draw

Bonne Route is a small, candlelit wine bar and bottle shop in Harringay, close to Harringay station, from the team behind Middle Lane Market. Named Time Out's best wine bar in London for 2026 and known for natural wines and a cosy, unpretentious atmosphere, it made a fitting setting for a relaxed drawing session.

The morning was structured around close observation and unhurried practice. Participants worked from a still life set-up, with a range of papers and drawing materials provided.

Whether attendees were experienced or picking up a pencil for the first time in years, the workshop offered a relaxed, sociable few hours of looking closely and drawing well, in one of north London's better-loved small venues.
